College Is a Waste of Time and Money Essay
1. Affluence- Abundance of money, property and other cloth goods Permissive- Habitually or characteristically accept or tolerant of something, as tender behavior or linguistic usage, which others powerfulness disapprove or forbid Elitist- A person having, thought to spend a penny, or professing superior intellect or talent, power, wealth, or membership in the upper echelons of cab bet 2. The time and money put into college are not balanced with the return rate. * confederacy has developed an unspoken standard that college is the opera hat fit for upcoming big(p)s and for them to achieve the highest reading possible. But in fact, most students do not want to be there because they do not want to learn. * no more than 25 percent of their students are turned on by classworkup to 30% are in college reluctantly * College has failed at its expectations and promises to give opportunities to students that most bargained for.* in that respect is already a surplus of adult workers in the economy with more engender than the prohibited-of-college student. Even with a degree in hand, graduated students do not have the upper hand over the see adults. * College instruction fails to ready students for the real because heavy(a) arts is a religion kinda than a preparation. * A liberal-arts education is hypothetical to provide you with a value system, a standard, a set of ideas, not a job. 3. College is an over-rated system that does not give out what a student gives in. 4. Based on the authors logic, I do agree with the authors argument. Although she uses a small amount of specific evidence, she reasons well up and thoroughly. As society has developed, it has pushed for everyone to obtain the highest education possible, which most students arent prepared for nor leave behind they continue with their degree. The world simply cannot go round with a population across-the-board of highly educated people.
